A private equity-backed deal, led by Anant Gupta and advised by Chris Aronson, has paid $70 million to control Hollywood's key box office data set, aiming to revive Rentrak.

Private equity firm Advaya Capital has completed its $70 million acquisition of Comscore's box office analytics division, Comscore Movies, and is restoring its former name, Rentrak.
