Nature of Service

Perspecta is a news aggregation service. We collect and display headlines, summaries, and links from third-party news publishers. We do not create original journalism. All articles, images, and content linked from Perspecta belong to their respective publishers and are subject to those publishers' terms and copyright.

Content Ownership

Headlines, article snippets, and images displayed on Perspecta are sourced from publicly available RSS feeds and APIs provided by news organisations. Clicking on a story will take you to the original publisher's website. We make no claim of ownership over third-party content.

The Perspecta name, design, and any original text (such as story summaries generated by our system) are owned by Perspecta.

User Accounts

You may create an account to personalise your experience, track reading progress, and save preferences. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from Perspecta beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt, or outside our published interfaces
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to distribute harmful content
• Reproduce or redistribute aggregated content in bulk without permission

These restrictions do not apply to our own published interfaces. The public API at /api/v1 and the assistant interface at /api/mcp exist precisely so that automated access has a supported, rate-limited route, and using them within their published limits is permitted. The restrictions above are aimed at access that bypasses those interfaces.

API and Assistant Access

Perspecta offers a public data API and an assistant interface that lets tools such as ChatGPT search stories and compare how outlets covered them. Both are read-only and return no personal data.

What they return, and what they do not. Responses contain headlines, our own generated summaries, our analysis of how coverage differs, and links to the original publishers. They do not reproduce publishers' article text. Perspecta ingests only feeds that publishers make available for syndication, and every story links back to the outlets that reported it. If you quote a story, cite the publisher, not us — we did not report it.

Limits. Both interfaces are rate limited. We may change or withdraw either at any time, and we do not guarantee availability or fitness for any particular purpose. Summaries and analyses are generated automatically and can be wrong; they are a starting point for reading the sources, not a substitute for them.

Limitation of Liability

Perspecta is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any content displayed on the platform, as it originates from third-party sources.

Certain features — including story summaries, topic classification, story clustering, and perspective analyses — are generated using artificial intelligence. These AI-generated outputs are provided for informational purposes only, may contain inaccuracies or misrepresentations, and should not be relied upon as professional analysis or advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Perspecta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Perspecta after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
