The family of football legend Jack Charlton is facing an inheritance tax bill of up to €233,000 to retain his 1966 World Cup medal, though they have no intention of selling it.

John Charlton, son of legendary footballer Jack Charlton, has given his father's World Cup medal to his mother to avoid a £200,000 inheritance tax bill following his father's death in 2020.
