Kaixiao Liu, the leader of a religious group in Auckland, has been jailed along with his wife for the manslaughter and kidnapping of Chinese citizen Shulai Wang in Ōrewa. The couple received sentences for their roles in Wang's death.

In the Gulf Harbour body trial, the accused, Kaixiao Liu, has requested the return of five deported women. Liu argued that their evidence was crucial for 'open justice' and the 'search of truth' in the ongoing court proceedings.

The trial is underway for the murder of Shulai Wang, whose body was found in a bag in Gulf Harbour, with four family members implicated. Authorities are investigating the victim's identity and the journey of the accused killer, Kaixiao Liu.

The identities of Kaixiao Liu, Lanyue Xiao, Xiuyun Li, and Jingui Liu have been revealed as those charged with the murder of 70-year-old Shulai Wang, whose body was found in a bag.

In the Gulf Harbour body trial, defendant Kaixiao Liu is challenging court translations, claiming a veteran translator made dozens of mistakes in notes and diaries found at his home.
