UN Special Representative and UNFICYP chief, Khassim Diagne, is reportedly scheduled to brief the UN Security Council in New York next month, as diplomatic efforts intensify to revive negotiations on the Cyprus issue ahead of a planned expanded meeting.

The head of the United Nations peacekeeping force in Cyprus, Khassim Diagne, has outlined four priorities for UNFICYP following a meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman.

President Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman are scheduled to hold a new meeting on Friday at 4 PM. The meeting will be hosted by the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Cyprus, Khassim Diagne, within the UN buffer zone.
