The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has cleared ABF's bakeries arm, owner of Kingsmill, to proceed with its £75 million deal to acquire Hovis. This merger is set to create the UK's largest bread brand, with the CMA finding that ABF would likely exit the market entirely if the deal did not proceed.
