Mamata Banerjee stated that those under pressure should quit before July 21, following the resignation of Koel Mallick, a respected film artist and MP, from Rajya Sabha after meeting a BJP leader.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has nominated a diverse group including celebrity lawyer Menaka Guruswamy, former police commissioner Rajeev Kumar, singer Babul Supriyo, and actress Koel Mallick for the Rajya Sabha.

Mamata Banerjee has commented on the continuing exodus from the Trinamool Congress following their recent assembly poll defeat, stating that leaders under pressure are free to leave the party, as Rajya Sabha MP Koel Mallick resigned.

Other nominees are State Minister Babul Supriyo and actor Koel Mallick

The other two candidates are Babul Supriyo and senior advocate Menaka Guruswamy.
