Director Lan Hongchun spoke at the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival, attributing the emotional depth of his film 'Dear You' to the Chinese tradition of qiaopi, or family letters and remittances.

The Chinese breakout hit 'Dear You,' directed by Lan Hongchun, is slated to have its North American premiere as the closing film of this year's New York Asian Film Festival, with Well Go USA acquiring distribution rights.
