A fire broke out near the Pissouri motorway in Cyprus around 3pm, forcing traffic diversions and the closure of the Limassol-Paphos highway as firefighters battled the blaze.

The left lane of the highway connecting Limassol and Paphos, near Episkopi, has been closed after a truck came to a stop, blocking the lane. Police are urging drivers to exercise caution and maintain a safe distance.

The Department of Public Works announced roadworks on highways in the Paphos and Larnaca districts on Wednesday. Maintenance on electronic signs will also be carried out on the Limassol-Paphos highway from 9 am to 5 pm.
