South Africa’s police commissioner, Fannie Masemola, has been summoned to court and served with a warrant in connection with a $20 million (R360 million) corruption scandal involving a health tender, which also implicates a dozen other officers.
The Madlanga commission heard that the Independent Directorate Against Corruption (Idac) investigated national police commissioner Fannie Masemola in the Medicare24 matter without the required Section 27 complaint referral.
