Twenty rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) Members of Parliament are expected to receive new Lok Sabha seats after deciding to merge with the National Congress Party of India (NCPI) and align with the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Confusion has emerged regarding the announced merger of Trinamool Congress (TMC) rebels with the National Congress Party of India (NCPI), which claims to now be the largest parliamentary force from West Bengal with 20 MPs.

Twenty rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs, exceeding the two-thirds majority mark, are reportedly planning to merge with the little-known National Congress Party of India (NCPI). This move has led to calls for their disqualification from Kapil Sibal.
