Pakistan assumed the chairmanship of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women while confronting its own uncomfortable realities, having recently been ranked 148th out of 148 countries in the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Report.

A Ministerial Conference on Women of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held, with a Vice President attending the event.

Islamabad is set to host the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women from Sunday, July 12-13. Pakistan welcomed delegates for the two-day event focused on women's empowerment.
