Greater Manchester police have arrested five people as part of an investigation into allegations of electoral fraud involving independent candidates in May's local election in Tameside.

Adam Mitula, a Reform UK activist suspended over racist and antisemitic comments, is reportedly still acting as an election agent for Reform candidates in three Tameside wards ahead of the May 7 polls.
