Thierry Garnier, the newly appointed director of Ahold, has expressed support for a dual strategy encompassing both online ordering and traditional physical retail stores.

Ahold Delhaize, owner of Albert Heijn, has nominated Thierry Garnier, currently the Kingfisher boss, to succeed Frans Muller as its next Chief Executive Officer.

Thierry Garnier, who has served as chief executive of Kingfisher, the owner of B&Q, since September 2019, is stepping down after seven years to take a new role with a European supermarket giant.
