
Fahmi: Johari Ghani to meet US counterparts for clarity on Malaysia tariffs
PUTRAJAYA, Feb 27 — Malaysia's economic and trade outlook remains uncertain despite a landmark US Supreme Court ruling that could impact the country's exports to the United States. Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, said that Deputy Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Johari Ghani, will be meeting with his US counterparts to seek clarity on the tariffs imposed on Malaysian goods. The ruling, which concerns the classification of imported goods, has raised concerns among Malaysian businesses about potential increases in tariffs. Tengku Zafrul added that the government is closely monitoring the situation and is committed to protecting the interests of Malaysian exporters.
