Heavens won’t fall if all 6 Vande stanzas sung in madrassas: Calcutta HC

The Calcutta High Court heard a public interest litigation challenging mandatory Vande Mataram stanzas. The court questioned the necessity of forcing students to sing specific religious or nationalistic songs. Arguments were made that forcing the song could disrupt communal harmony and lead to legal issues. The court noted that no coercive steps have been taken regarding the notification yet. Additional Solicitor General opposed the interim prayer, calling some PILs publicity-driven.
