Austria Halves VAT on Basic Foodstuffs to Combat Inflation
Austria has reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on numerous basic foodstuffs from 10% to 4.9% starting July 1st, an initiative by the government to counter rising food prices and mitigate inflation.
