New York State Imposes Moratorium on New Hyperscale Data Centers
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a bill imposing a one-year ban on the construction of new large data centers across the state, with the aim of studying their environmental impact and energy consumption. This makes New York the first state to implement such a moratorium on hyperscale data centers for AI.
