Carlos Garaikoetxea, First Post-Franco Basque President, Dies at 87
Carlos Garaikoetxea, the first Lehendakari (President of the Basque Government) following the Franco dictatorship, has died at the age of 87. He was a significant political figure who also broke with the PNV party.
