Icelandic Medical Association Head Calls Hospital Staff Cuts 'Uncomfortable Situation'
Steinunn Þórðardóttir, head of the Icelandic Medical Association, described the need to reduce staff at Landspítalinn (National University Hospital of Iceland) as an "uncomfortable situation." This follows reports last week that 40 positions would be cut as part of austerity measures to address a five billion krona deficit.
