EU Advances Reproductive Rights While Fundamentalist Voices Strengthen in Czechia

The EU has taken further steps in reproductive rights, following a proposal registered by the 'My Voice, My Choice' European citizens' initiative aimed at improving abortion access across Europe. Meanwhile, fundamentalist voices are reportedly growing stronger in the Czech Republic.

EU udělala další krok v oblasti reprodukčních práv, v Česku ale sílí hlas fundamentalistů

V dubnu roku 2024 si evropská občanská iniciativa My Voice, My Choice nechala u Evropské komise zaregistrovat návrh, který mířil na lepší dostupnost interrupcí napříč Evropou. Každý rok totiž musí v Evropě cestovat za interrupcí do jiné země víc než pět tisíc žen. Komise tak poprvé potvrdila možnost použít evropské peníze i na tuto oblast. V Česku ale mezitím sílí hlasy volající po omezení reprodukčních práv.
