Vietnamese Banker Wins US PhD Scholarship After IMF Role

A Vietnamese banker, who joined the International Monetary Fund as a research assistant in 2023 despite language hurdles and never studying abroad, has now secured a fully funded economics PhD scholarship at UC Santa Barbara.
