Nordio launches pardon probe for Roggero

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 17 - Justice Minister Carlo Nordio on Friday launched an investigation aimed at President Sergio Mattarella potentially granting a pardon to Mario Roggero, a a 72-year-old Piedmontese jeweler sentenced to 14 years and nine months in jail for killing two fleeing robbers outside his shop near Cuneo in 2021 and whose clemency cause has been taken up by right-wing parties.
