Icelandic Construction Costs to Rise Due to VAT Refund Reduction
A proposed government reduction in VAT refunds for on-site labor could increase construction costs for a 100-square-meter apartment by an average of 2.5-3 million Icelandic krona, according to Sigurður Hannesson of the Federation of Icelandic Industries.
