Protest in Warsaw Demands Recognition of Same-Sex Marriages Per TSUE Ruling
A protest titled "Stop Segregation of Marriages" was held in front of the Prime Minister's Chancellery in Warsaw, demanding the implementation of a European Court of Justice (TSUE) ruling regarding the rights of same-sex couples to have their marriages recognized across EU member states. The demonstration, organized by Lambda Warsaw and other LGBTQ+ rights groups, saw participants carrying rainbow flags and signs with slogans such as "Love is Love" and "Equality Now." Speakers at the event highlighted the ongoing discrimination faced by same-sex couples in Poland and urged the government to comply with the TSUE's decision, which mandates that all EU countries must recognize same-sex marriages performed in other member states. The protest remained peaceful, with participants dispersing after a few hours. The government has not yet issued a formal response to the demands.
