Nurse leaves bedridden woman unattended, consumer commission orders agency to pay Rs 24K

A Kerala consumer commission found a nursing agency deficient in service. The agency failed to provide a replacement nurse for a bedridden elderly woman. This abrupt discontinuation of care caused significant distress and inconvenience to the patient. The commission ordered the agency to refund charges and pay compensation for the lapse. The agency must now pay Rs 4,000 refund and Rs 15,000 compensation.
