The supermarket Irish butter taste test: ‘It had a lovely creamy texture and our tasters preferred it to Kerrygold’

If you’ve ever tried making butter at home, or made it by accident by over-whipping cream, you’ll know it contains just two ingredients: cream and salt. It stands to reason, therefore, that the quality of the butter depends on the quality of those two things. Each butter we tested is made with Irish grass-fed milk.
