Tens of thousands of people gathered in Trafalgar Square to pay tribute to the late University of Cambridge professor Jason Arday. Stand Up to Racism, which organised the event, estimated that 30,000 had gathered to listen to speeches about Arday’s life and legacy from academics, MPs, friends and campaigners, and to join in a minute’s silence.
