Highest Dutch court tears up Schiphol flight limit plan
The highest Dutch court, the Council of State, has torn up limits on the number of flights to and from Schiphol Airport, ruling that the government's plan to reduce air traffic was unlawful. The court stated that the government had not sufficiently demonstrated that the reduction in noise and nitrogen pollution would be achieved. The ruling is a significant setback for the government's efforts to curb aviation emissions and protect the environment around the airport.
