Fraud Detected in French Protected Food Labels
France's Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) has uncovered widespread fraud in the use of protected geographical indications (AOP and IGP) for products like 'pruneaux d’Agen' and 'veau du Limousin'. Nearly 1,800 inspections revealed deceptions by restaurateurs, producers, and traders.
