Poland Proposes National Registry and Mandatory Chipping for Dogs and Shelter Animals

The Polish Council of Ministers has approved a draft for a National Register of Tagged Dogs and Cats (KROPiK), introducing mandatory chipping for all dogs and animals in shelters, with chipping for cats remaining optional.

Rada Ministrów dała zielone światło dla powstania Krajowego Rejestru Oznakowanych Psów i Kotów (KROPiK). Nowe przepisy wprowadzają wymóg czipowania wszystkich psów oraz zwierząt przebywających w schroniskach. W przypadku kotów system pozostanie w dużej mierze dobrowolny, z wyłączeniem zwierząt trafiających do sprzedaży lub placówek opiekuńczych.
