27. julij 1908. Tržaški ribič Vittorio Lacovič se je nič hudega sluteč odpravil na ribolov na pomol sv. Karla in čakal na sipe. A namesto sip je našel nekaj povsem grozljivega. Sprva je videl culo, premagala ga je radovednost in potegnil jo je iz vode. In zavita v culo je bila človeška glava. Krivec? Nihče drug kot rojanski razparač.
