Maharashtra Constitutes Panel to Draft Uniform Civil Code Legislation

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that his government has formed a committee, led by a retired Supreme Court judge, to draft legislation for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The state plans to introduce a UCC bill during the upcoming winter session of the legislature.
