Greeks Can Now Unfreeze Bank Accounts by Paying Just 25% of Tax Debt
Greece's tax authority, AADE, will now let taxpayers unfreeze seized bank accounts as soon as they pay off 25% of the debt that caused the freeze, under a new rule issued by AADE chief Giorgos Pitsilis.
To qualify, taxpayers must have paid a quarter of the seized debt, arranged installments or a suspension for the rest, and cleared any other overdue debts.
Applications go through the myAADE online portal, and once approved, the account is unlocked immediately and digitally.
