US hiker dies struck by lightning on Etna

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 17 - A thirty-year-old American hiker was struck by lightning Sunday night on Mount Etna and died at the Cannizzaro Hospital in Catania. Italy's fifth brutal heatwave is giving way to storms across much of the country. The American was reportedly climbing the volcano through a restricted area when a thunderstorm struck.
