Philippines: Monsoon rains and cyclones affect millions, cause widespread disruption
Over 3.7 million people in the Philippines have been affected by the southwest monsoon (habagat) and tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay. The severe weather has led to rising water levels in Laguna de Bay and La Mesa Dam, class suspensions in multiple provinces including Zambales, Cavite, Batangas, and Rizal, agricultural damage exceeding P4.83 million in Zambales, landslides, and the rescue of sea turtles due to strong waves.
