Derzeit findet in der mongolischen Hauptstadt Ulan-Bator die 17. UNO-Konferenz zur Wüstenbildung (COP17) statt. Das diesjährige Motto lautet „Land wiederherstellen. Hoffnung wiederherstellen“. Angesichts der weltweiten teils historischen Dürre, Trockenheit und Hitze dürfte der Konferenz dieses Mal tatsächlich besonders viel Bedeutung zukommen.
