Poland Begins A1 Motorway Renovation to Fix 'Danube Waves'

Poland's General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) has started renovation work on the A1 motorway to eliminate surface deformations known as 'Danube Waves,' with speed limits reduced to 60 km/h on the affected section.

GDDKiA rozpoczęła remont na autostradzie A1. Znikną "Fale Dunaju" - deformacje nawierzchni, które wystawiają resory samochodów na próbę. Na remontowanym odcinku nie pojedziemy szybciej niż 60 km/h. Fragment autostrady, gdzie znajdują się "fale" oddano do użytku w 2012 roku. "Niestety spodziewamy się korków" - powiedział nam zastępca rzecznika katowickiego oddziału GDDKiA.
