The NPP approved the Damang deal — so why is it suddenly controversial?

The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has given the green light to Engineers and Planners Co. Ltd. to enter into negotiations with Abosso Goldfields Limited over the possible acquisition of the Damang Gold Mine. The clearance, contained in a letter dated 12th March, 2024, was issued by the ministry's Chief Director, Prof. Patrick K. Agbesinyale, on behalf of the sector minister, following a request from the company dated 8th March, 2024.
