Fine Issued for Disturbing Polar Bear with Ship's Foghorn in Svalbard
A 4,500 euro fine was imposed in Svalbard for unnecessarily disturbing a protected polar bear by using a ship's foghorn. Disturbing, luring, or chasing polar bears is prohibited in the region.
