Lithuanian Government Approves Abolition of Minimum PUPP Score for Tenth Graders

The Lithuanian government has approved a proposal to abolish the requirement for tenth graders to achieve a minimum of 4 points in the basic education achievement test (PUPP) to continue their studies in secondary education programs, a rule that was set to take effect in autumn 2026.

Vyriausybė ketvirtadienį pritarė siūlymui atsisakyti nuo 2026 metų rudens turėjusio įsigalioti reikalavimo dešimtokams pagrindinio ugdymo pasiekimų patikrinime (PUPP) surinkti ne mažiau kaip 4 balus, norint tęsti mokslą pagal vidurinio ugdymo programą.
