Norwegian Statistics Office Changes Interest Rate Forecast Due to War

Norway's statistics office, SSB, has withdrawn its December forecast for the central bank to lower interest rates in 2026, with a new forecast extending to 2029 now predicting only one rate cut.

Norska hagstofan SSB hefur fallið frá þeirri spá sinni frá í desember að seðlabanki landsins lækki stýrivexti sína á árinu 2026. Ný spá stofunnar, sem leit dagsins ljós í morgun, nær allt til ársins 2029 og er því þar spáð að ein vaxtalækkun verði gerð á næsta ári og ein til árið 2028.
