West Africa losing 8 million shea trees annually, Global Shea Alliance warns

The Global Shea Alliance (GSA), a major stakeholder in the shea industry, has raised concerns over what it describes as unprecedented pressure on shea parklands across West Africa, warning that the estimated annual loss of eight million shea trees threatens the future of the industry and the livelihoods of generations across the sub-region.
