Austria Implements New Helmet Mandate for Young E-Scooter and E-Bike Riders

A new amendment to Austria's road traffic regulations (StVO-Novelle) will require young riders of e-scooters and e-bikes to wear helmets starting May 1st. The Road Safety Board (KFV) reminded the public of these changes and advocated for a general helmet mandate for all riders.

Das Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit (KFV) erinnerte am Dienstag an die Änderungen und kritisierte die fehlende Helmpflicht für Erwachsene. Die überwiegende Mehrzahl der Verletzten sei nämlich älter.
