Syrian Intelligence General Sentenced for Torture in Vienna

A high-ranking Syrian intelligence general has been sentenced to a long prison term in Vienna for torture. He is the highest-ranking representative of the ousted Assad regime to be held legally accountable, with the court finding he systematically tortured opposition members in a prison he commanded in Raqqa.
