Nearly Half of EU Electricity from Renewables, Cyprus Among Lowest Performers, Eurostat Reports
According to Eurostat data, almost half of the electricity produced in the European Union last year came from renewable sources, accounting for 47.3%. While Romania was slightly below the European average, Cyprus recorded the fifth lowest share of electricity generated from renewable sources in the EU in 2025.
