UN Reveals 19% of Consumer Food Wasted, Equaling Five Times Aviation Emissions on Zero Waste Day

On the UN's International Day of Zero Waste, the organization highlighted that 19% of food intended for consumers is wasted globally, generating nearly five times more emissions than aviation. Türkiye also joined global efforts to reduce waste and promote sustainable consumption, as a UNEP official emphasized the annual waste of over one billion tonnes of edible food.
