Japan's Child Welfare Centers Mandated to Conduct Safety Checks Within 48 Hours After Confinement Incident
Following a January incident in Tokyo where a teenage girl with intellectual disabilities was confined, and child welfare services intervened three days after the abuse report, the Children and Families Agency has notified child consultation centers nationwide to strictly enforce safety checks within the guideline's 48-hour window from a report.
