Slovak Food Inspections Uncover Salmonella in Meat, Hundreds of Violations
Food inspections conducted by the State Veterinary and Food Administration of Slovakia (ŠVPS SR) in May 2026 revealed hundreds of violations, including salmonella contamination in meat. Fines exceeding 100,000 euros were issued for issues such as neglected hygiene and expired food.
