21-year-old inmate dies by suicide after repeated requests for alternative measures denied

A 21-year-old inmate, identified as Abrar, died by suicide in her cell after her numerous requests for alternative measures were denied. Abrar, who was drug-dependent, had sought treatment and wished to serve her sentence for theft and receiving stolen goods in a community setting.
